03/01/2003 Entry: "Three connected events (9/11, the Turks, and Iraq destroying banned missiles)"

Does anyone else see some symmetry in this or are things just going right for a change?

Pakistan Arrests Alleged 9/11 Mastermind
ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (AP) Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, the suspected mastermind of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, was arrested Saturday in Pakistan, a senior official told The Associated Press.

Turkish Speaker Nullifies U.S. Troop Vote
ANKARA, Turkey (AP) In a serious blow to U.S. war plans, the speaker of Turkey's parliament nullified a legislative vote Saturday that would have allowed deployment of 62,000 U.S. combat troops in Turkey to open a northern front against Iraq. Bulent Arinc voided the vote on constitutional grounds, ruling that a majority of legislators present had not voted in favor.

Iraq Begins Destroying Banned Missiles
BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) Iraq began destroying its Al Samoud 2 missiles Saturday as ordered by the United Nations and agreed with weapons inspectors on a timetable to dismantle the entire missile program, U.N. and Iraqi officials said.

Go Turks!

Why is AP so hard to link to? Sorry about the pop-ups.
