"Asked if U.S. bombs or missiles could have caused the blasts, U.S. spokesman Brigadier-General Vincent Brooks told a Central Command briefing in Qatar: 'We don't know that they were ours. We can't say that we had anything to do with that.'

"He acknowledged that "mistakes can occur", but said it was too early to know whether U.S. forces had hit the wrong target."

Yeah, precision bombing with smart bombs. Yeah, right. Or is the General saying that maybe they meant to bomb a civilian neighborhood and shopping center? What next? Mall of America? Fuck.

My thoughts go out to the innocents who died in the marketplace, and the others who have died since this stupid campaign began. My thoughts also go out to the men and women of our military who are caught between a rock and a 'prickly shrub' in this debacle. This looks to be a looong campaign, folks. It's just a shame that the freepers riding their Stratoloungers think this is all like some big 'reality show' like Survivor. The grim truth is--war is hell and people get killed. So, pass the popcorn and, while you're up, why dontcha get me another beer, hon?
