04/12/2003 Entry: "Baghdad has fallen. Adjust."

Well, yes, Baghdad has fallen and my sense of relief is equal to putting out a frying pan fire in a burning house.

I would love to look away and never think about this again, but Baghdad and the other cities are only a small part of a country the size of California, full of angry people with guns, the Kurds are in the north, possibly squaring off with the Turks (and which one do we like better this week?), and nearly everyone else in the world hates us, and I can see their point. I mean, can anyone really say with a straight face that Europe should help pay for the mess the US and UK (mainly) made of Iraq? Man, is that a scream or what? No wonder everyone hates us: First we trash a country that was well contained against everyone's wishes and then we ask them to clean it up? Hm, I say, look at me when I'm talkin' to ya, son.

I think I won't mention that North Korea has nukes and probably missiles that can reach a certain city on the west coast. Nor will I bring up the US has probably made more soldiers for the jihad in three weeks than in 300 years of "Christian" civilization. And you Christians, real and faux, know what I'm talking about. And, lastly, the US is flat broke and in the hole, even before the Iraq, um, cakewalk, and nobody in power seems to give a rat's ass about it. I'll try not to think anymore scary thoughts until after dinner, okay.

I hate to be a wet blanket, but the nightmare is far from over, no matter who gets elected in 2004. And yes, there will be elections, don't be negative.
