08/28/2003 Entry: "Star Trek Tribute Bands and Sacramento"

"Star Trek tribute bands, an anomaly that seems to be centered in Sacramento. 'For some reason, Sacramento is the center of the universe when it comes to Star Trek bands.'"
Die Puny Humans, Warren Ellis, August 28, 2003 (proceed at your own risk)

But does anyone have the faintest idea why?
