If you have a chance to see Going Upriver - The Long War of John Kerry, do so.

I don't remember Kerry from those days (I was 12), but I will never forget how deeply I was moved by this film about him then. I knew he was a good man, but now I think he is a great man.

And yes, I know people change, but they don't change that much.

So see it if you can. Take some tissues. I needed mine.

I just hope, when he's in the White House, that he remembers the disaster of "Vietnamization" and realizes that the "stabilization" of Iraq is the same damn thing.

I can't quote it, but I remember reading that Nixon could have made the peace he made in 1972 in 1969 and saved many lives. Hindsight is 20/20 and can be applied to Iraq; I hope Kerry figures this out very quickly. He's smart, he'll figure it out. I hope.
