10/31/2005 Entry: "The Conan Method for Interacting With Girls"

"Bob read a lot of Conan books in his formative years, and one day it occurred to him: Conan never had trouble interacting with women. Oh sure, he might have one turn into some sort of lizard creature and try to eat him, but thatís small potatoes compared to a girl saying, 'No, I can't go out with you tonight. I just put a bag of Ramen Noodles in the microwave.'"
The Conan Method for Interacting With Girls, by Steve Ruthenbeck, guest commentary at Dark, but Shining, etc., October 29, 2005

Well, fanboys, you might think a girl would jump at the chance to toss out a bag of Ramen Noodles to have dinner with you, but, just as a loose guideline, it's usually considered cooler to call a girl for dinner a day or two before, and not, well, at dinnertime. You might also sweeten the deal by offering to take her to the MOVIE OF HER CHOICE, without a murmur on her taste in film. This will make you a hero to her and give you decent insight into her taste in pop culture. If she picks anything with Meg Ryan in it, I encourage you to go on to the next girl.
