![]() (aus der Skippy, who got it from the Freeway Blogger) Ouch, but deserved. SUV's used for normal city and burb driving not only waste gas, but cause more damage and injuries in accidents, and fuck up the parking. But, hey, if you can afford a Hummer or something equally horrible, you probably don't give a good goddam what I think. Special note: I make exception for people who live way way far out in the trees, where there are no roads, and need 4-wheel drive just to get home or out to mend fences, or whatever they do out there. The rest of you: your immortal souls and, more importantly, your bank balances are in great danger. I, personally, have always thought that SUVs became popular after the Rodney King Rebellion so white people could drive over the bodies of rioting non-white people to get out of town. Of course, when gas hits $5+/gallon, we'll all be walkin' in LA, so now might be a good time to get to know all your neighbors, even the brown ones, hey. Posted by GM Replies: 1 Comment We had a Minister of the Environment, during the previous government in Canada, who justified his SUV use on the fact that he needed it to take his two children to their soccer games. Apparently, people in the 'burbs (and I'm a 'burb dweller - it's close to work) have forgotten how they got around when they were kids. My mom stuffed her four kids into her Dodge Omni for all kinds of activities. We managed somehow.Today people think they're doing their children a disservice by driving them in something less than a two-tonne station-wagon. Posted by John @ 05/29/2006 10:27 AM PST
