"The first official Swiss Army knife with a built-in MP3 player - we think it's a beauty. Housed in an aluminum case the tiny removable MP3 player features a high-quality 3 line LCD display and 1 GB of storage capacity. It handles multiple file formats, can be used as a flash drive for your files, and recharges its built-in battery via USB connection." Swiss Beat MP3, ThinkGeek via My Crazy Corner After this, it can only be a matter of time before we see MP3 players in vibrators. (Okay, I admit it, I kind of want one of these [the knife, okay?].)

Via Paul the Spud — the President of the Oglala Sioux Tribe on the Pine Ridge Reservation, Cecilia Fire Thunder, is fighting back against the South Dakota abortion law. A former nurse and healthcare giver she was very angry that a state body made up mostly of white males, would make such a stupid law against women. "To me, it is now a question of sovereignty," she said to me last week. "I will personally establish a Planned Parenthood clinic on my own land which is within the boundaries of the Pine Ridge Reservation where the State of South Dakota has absolutely no jurisdiction." President Fire Thunder is taking donations to help build the clinic. What better way to kick the Fetus People in their collective butt? Fire Thunder, lifted wholesale from Mahablog, March 23, 2006 Update 060206: "...the Oglala Sioux tribal council prohibits all abortions on Pine Ridge reservation and suspends President Cecelia Fire Thunder." (via Cursor) Goddamit.

"It only makes me wonder anew why this case couldn't have been resolved without any trial, any Jane Doe testimony and any lengthy prison time for the defendants. Why couldn't this case have been settled and spared everyone the tawdry spectacle it became?" In Defense of the Prosecution, They Did Make an Offer, by some idiot named Dana Parsons at the LA Times, March 19, 2006 (click [Link] for more text) Excuse me, Dana, Gregory Haidl, Kyle Nachreiner and Keith Spann are fucked-up dangerous guys, do you really want them on the streets with you? With your kids? I don't care about you or your kids (if you have any), but these guys acted like animals and taped it; they need to do time. Society needs them to do time. It is NOT open season on women. Do what these three did and go to jail. This case had to go to trial because Haidl, Nachreiner and Spann thought they were above the law. And they found lawyers willing to proceed that way. Yes, ugly, but the rape was uglier. And if you need more convincing, here's Jane Doe's statement (I think she said this at the sentancing). Dana, it will break your heart, if you have one. You must not have anyone you really care about in your life, Dana, or a soul, if you think those three rapists shouldn't be doing even more time.

"According to the authors, "Holy Blood, Holy Grail" is a non-fiction book, meticulously researched (you, of course, can draw your own conclusions). According to Dan Brown, "The Da Vinci Code" is fiction. Now, fiction relies upon non-fiction as the basis of research for obvious reasons: relying upon fiction would set a bad precedent." Dan Brown Update: Authors Rely on Source, Booksquare, March 16,2006 I based some novels on the Reagan administration, which category does that fall into?
