If anyone is remotely interested, I did the James Asal interview in this month's Sequential Tart. Oh, and there's a new review (not by me) at the J LHLS blog.

The Economist has better ways to attack bush. Well, at least this week's cover does. (Now they tell us.)

"Technology has changed the way men and women are finding each other to perform awkward, sweaty, mating rituals, yet the psychology behind the courting system still remains the same. Just like in nature, males still are the initiators of the contact, urged on by the sinking feeling of loneliness after beating Megaman III for the 100th time and the constant nagging erection in their drawers. Women still use bright and shiny objects to attract the attention of the male, but now it's in the form of extravagantly decorated website with animated gifs and midi's of the Dawson's Creek theme song. Males will compete against each other for the fancy of the young women by bombarding her with instant messages of "omg u r hott wanna cyber?". The male that is most persistent and can Photoshop his head on Brad Pitt's body will win the female, as the herd of prospective males head to the next geocites or livejournal site and the cycle of life continues. The human species will continue to adapt in this manner to keep up with the new and exciting ways to find love." Love, American Style, by Reid "Frolixo" Paskiewicz, Something Awful, April 1, 2004 I didn't think we were doomed, but now I'm not so sure.

In our ongoing series of The Ginger Mayerson Fifty Films, here is 41/50: Guys and Dolls Marlon Brando cannot sing, but he can kind of dance. Somewhat goofy music, babes, and Frank Sinatra. Anything by Adelaide is great. Guys and Dolls

"Can we all pull our heads out of our asses now? We have been hugely disserved for years because the 'liberal media' let their distaste for President Clinton color their news coverage to the point of completely obscuring what was going on in the world. Our current Fearless Leader has been given a free ride in the press for years, while we lost jobs, lost civilian lives, lost international credibility, lost government accountability, lost any meaningful attempt at environmental protection, lost the right to have our votes counted, lost fiscal responsibility, lost educational funding, lost the two hundred year old tradition of a Supreme Court protecting the constitution against the executive branch and lost any illusion that government serves the people and not the party in power." In our ongoing series of The Ginger Mayerson Fifty Films, here is 40/50: The Adventures of Baron von Munchausen I just love this stunning and silly film, really I do. And it's nice a little girl gets to go on an adventure for a change. Nice to see Oliver Reed for five minutes again, too. The Adventures of Baron von Munchausen

In our ongoing series of The Ginger Mayerson Fifty Films, here is 39/50: The Grass is Greener Deborah Kerr, Cary Grant, Robert Mitchum and Jean Simmons in a comedy of manners. What the hell else do you need in life? Mitchum is a seething, hulking, brute of an American millionaire (hey, I'd do him) who steals Deborah Kerr from Cary Grant. Jean Simmons is a seething, hulking brute of an English ninny here, but is also great. Favorite line: "If your mistress is unfaithful, dismiss her. If your wife is unfaithful, understand her." The Grass is Greener

In our ongoing series of The Ginger Mayerson Fifty Films, here is 38/50: Duck Soup Well, I wanted to put Horsefeathers here but it's not on DVD or VHS that I could find. Oh well. Anyway, the trial scene and war song make this worth being on the Mayerson Fifty list Duck Soup
