Tim Burton's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory: What a disaster. I'd say Burton went wide of the mark, but I can't even tell what he was aiming at. I did like Johnny Depp in it, but still think Michael Jackson should have had this role. He was born for it. Still love Gene Wilder in the original. In fact, other than Jack Albertson and the Ompah Lompah song, I can't remember anything except Gene Wilder in the original. Oh well, at least it got me out of this terrible heat for a few hours. (Trailers: Why in God's name did they remake "Pride and Prejudice"? Why?)
